Choosing a Photographer

Before choosing your photographer, take time to review their portfolio. If you don’t have someone with experience and skill, your photos will pay the price. Studios should provide album examples to review before you make your choice. If the studio does not allow you to choose your photographer, quickly move on!

What is the standard arrangement for a photographer working w/designers, models, stylists, hair/makeup etc…?

I am a photographer who shoots film, cost-deficient, beautiful film. I am building a fashion book and need designers, stylists, hair/make up, models etc… I want to work with up and comers, who are also building their books and regular people not just models who have never done a photoshoot before. What is the arrangement/industry standard for giving prints to the various people? The photos will only be in my portfolio, at least for the moment. I would credit everyone on my site and if the pictures were published, they would be credited. Obviously they need to have photos of their work for their own books, which is why they would participate. But how many prints do I give them. It gets costly for me to give prints out, is it acceptable to give one or two 8×10s and charge for any other selects? "Regular" ie not models often expect to get prints of everything. I would love to give everyone a copy of the best shots of everything, but it is too expensive for me to do so.

wedding invitation wording?

I am trying to figure out how to put the address of the reception on the invitation, if it is at a residence. I can’t find anything online. It will be at my future Mother-in-laws residence.

Should i say :
The residence of name and name lastname
3434 fake street
Columbus, Ohio

or leave out the whole residence of, and just put the address?
then maybe put a card in the envelope, too…with directions.

Also, does everything else look ok? Any suggestions??

Thanks!

HELP! Wedding Venues!!?

I am getting married in Boardman, Ohio..But I am living in Columbus, OH. So I am needing wedding and reception locations to look at before I go there, so I’m not just wasting time! Any suggestions would be sooo helpful! It’s going to be a bigger a wedding, so smaller venues would not be helpful! Thanks for any suggestions!!! :)

Any good ideas for an outdoor wedding in Ohio?

We are in the early processes of planning my wedding and are looking for ideas for where to have the ceremony and reception. She wants an outdoor wedding in a nice setting, with an indoor reception (preferably at the same location as the ceremony). We live in Mansfield but are open to anywhere from Columbus area north to Lake Erie. We would like to have it at a waterfront setting if possible but its not a dealbreaker. Anyone got ideas?

We are planning a semiformal wedding, no more than 200 guests and would like to find a good value. The wedding will be sometime in august 2009

You may kiss the bride…legally.?

My fiance and I are getting married in Columbus Ohio in June of 2009. We want one of our best friends to perform the ceremony, so therefore, we realize he needs to become an ordained minister. We checked out a few websites and it seems way too easy. On one of them, all he would need to do is enter in his name and he would be ordained (according to the website). I don’t feel like this is correct. Does anyone know the process of becoming ordained in the state of Ohio? (we are going to have someone else perform the religious part of the ceremony, but the actual vows and legal part are the what we want our friend to perform) Please help so we can be legally married after our wedding day!! :)

Old, romantic venues for wedding in columbus, ohio?

I just got engaged this past Christmas, and we have set the date tentatively for October 2, 2010. I have searched the web for countless hours trying to find the location that is right for us. The places I have been most drawn to are the Venue at Smith Bros. & Pinnacle Golf Course. The old brick style and romantic feel is just what were looking for. Smith Bros was already booked and Pinnacle is a bit out of our price range. If anyone knows any other places in or around Columbus, Ohio that have similar architecture or style PLEASE lend me some suggestions. I would really appreciate it!
